THINGS TO DO

AT EDGEWOOD

Spring and summer here will give you the opportunity to enjoy our Long Lake sand beach. Fishing on Long Lake has become legendary.  You can rent one of our boats or just cast off one of our docks. Enjoy s'mores by the fire in the evening and listen to the calls of the loons with your coffee in the morning. All our cabins are only steps to the water and have memorable views. Cyclists gather here to enjoy the Heartland Trail and the many routes that it takes them. Hike through some of Minnesota’s incredible forests. See our abundance of wildlife and remember how to be a kid again. It's your time to make memories!

Fall and winter are memorable seasons on their own here in Northern Minnesota. The fall foliage is beautiful to take in before our chilly winter temperatures set it.  But, like any season, winter can be a lot of fun for the whole family. Snowmobilers rent Edgewood’s largest cabins for a gathering place to stop after a long days ride and to get a great night’s rest. Walker is a great distance to enjoy by snowmobile and, if you come at the right time, you can head that way to enjoy the epic Eelpout Festival on Leach Lake. And, of course, there is always the ice fishing!

Throughout the year we have had numerous guests plan quilting and crafting weekends at Edgewood.  Call your friends and get your weekend booked.

NORTHERN MN

We are located central to so many things to see and do you will run out of vacation time way before you take everything in. Our area is full of lakes, rivers, national forests, towns, golf courses, restaurants and much more. Northern Minnesota is THE place to visit for great outdoor recreation.

We are only a couple miles from Park Rapids and in a close proximity to Itasca State Park, where the head waters of the Mississippi is located.  The park has become a natural and cultural landmark with camping, lodging and naturalist programs for all ages. Year-round recreational opportunities include fishing, canoeing, biking, swimming, picnicking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Designated as Minnesota’s first state park in 1891, Itasca State Park is regarded as the crown jewel of state parks and the premier highlight of the Lake Country Scenic Byway.

If you would like to enjoy an hilarious comedy or delightful musical while at Edgewood, be sure to check out Long Lake Theater located close by in Hubbard, MN. Other nearby communities are DorsetNevis, Akeley,  or visit the Itasca Area Lakes Tourism Assn for additional info.
