Cabin 3 Deck Cabin 3 Front View

resort history

Edgewood Resort has been open for 64 years. It was started in 1946 by Jim and Sophie Laverty. Three cabins were built in the hopes of selling them off one by one.  No one would buy them so Laverty’s built more cabins with plans to turn it into a resort.  A lodge was built in the 1950’s in hopes of a dining business, but later was turned into a grand lodge rental and later into permanent living quarters for the owners.

Laverty’s sold the resort to Gene Wilkie of Omaha, Nebraska in 1967. He built two more cabins.  The next owners were Bud and Donna Klemond who purchased Edgewood in 1974 and turned it into a nice family resort.  After owning the resort for 10 years, Klemonds sold Edgewood. The resort had many different owners over the next nine years.

In the fall of 1991, Tom and Diane Guinn purchased Edgewood Resort. By 1994 they had added two new four bedroom cabins and in 1995 built their third new cabin. They went on to build three more units that were all finished by 1999.

On February 4th, 2010, Tom and Dianne Guinn sold the resort to Jim and Melissa Jordahl. The Jordahl’s plan on having the resort open all year round to accommodate snowmobilers, cross country skiers, fishermen and all winter enthusiasts.
